Our first stop will be at the “Miradouro do Carvão” a wonderful panoramic view of the North coast of the island.
Then we will travel through a wonderful zone of lagoons. We will visit the “Empadada” lagoon and after at the “Lagoa do Canário” which is situated at an altitude of 745 meters in Sete Cidades.
Around 11:30 a.m. we will be stopping at the”Vista do Rei”, a very well know view, characterized by the volcanic depression that constitutes the hot springs of Sete Cidades. The name was given after the visit of king Carlos and queen Amélia on 6 th of July of 1901.
Then we are off to the side of the island to an altitude of 600 meters
circumscribing another
panoramic view the “ Miradouro das Cumieiras”.
Lunch will be served around 1:00 p.m. at a typical restaurant on the North coast of the island. The menu will be
traditional azorean food.
Around 2:00 p.m. will be restarting our journey at the port of “Capelas”, a formar whalers village.
This Safari includes a brief visit to a
pineapple
plantation situated in the
town of “ Fajã de Baixo”,
there are many greenhouses where the precious fruit is produced - they can be
visited and liqueurs can be tasted.
The end of our wonderful day will be at 5 p.m.
